El Bacha is well known for his love of watercolor and his particular approach to painting in water colors, using the white color of the paper to bring light into his works and creating different levels of transparency in all of his watercolors, at times using a minimal amount of color and plenty of water, creating very subtle and beautiful images of transparency and lightness. In this work, the artist depicts a portion of the terrace in his family home, where his wife Angelina, an avid gardener, created a beautiful, lush and colorful garden, which he drew and painted so many times. He loved nature but also terraces and gardens and enjoyed sitting at a table in this terrace drawing or painting for hours on end.
