From her late 40s and to early 70s, Chun Kyung-ja leaves on sketching trips, starting with Tahiti, to Europe, Africa, Central and South America, and so on. Through traveling the world, the artist pioneers a unique genre called “Chun Kyung-ja’s Scenery and Customs Paintings” by capturing exotic moods on canvas. The women she met while traveling appear as major features in the works of this period, and this particular work depicts the exotic landscape and women of Granada through primary colors, and well represents the bright and bold painting style of the artist.
