This piece was inspired by a genre of porcelain jars painted with blue and white from the Joseon dynasty. The expressive dragon imagery has long been a powerful mythological character in Asian culture. Here, the artist wanted to utilize a more cartoonish dragon image reminiscent of characters in American popular culture.
