Life is a series of cycles. The sun cycles every eleven years, season after season, and flora sheds their blooms and leaves only to be born again. Like all living creatures, we, as humans, go through many cycles. In Korean culture, the moon cycle is a symbol of life’s essence and marks the passage of time. Several moon jars hang suspended in different states of abstraction, inspired by the lotus flower, symbolizing enlightenment. These “lotus moon jars” create a visual representation of the many cycles intertwined with one another, celebrating life’s complexity and harmonious unity.
