The first-time showing in this exhibition, is a work that reinterprets the dancheong of four major old Korean palaces from the artist’s perspective. Starting with the series, the artist began to focus more on Korean beauty and became interested in traditional patterns. The dancheong displayed on the large screen changes color and shape repeatedly, demonstrating a strong pattern in a rhythmic manner. The image of traditional dancheong, which we, as Koreans, are familiar with, changes into dynamic energy. Through this work, which provides a fantastic experience as if looking into a kaleidoscope, the artist sought to represent the dynamic colors and humor of Korea.
