During his stay in Paris in 2003, the artist walked around the city with his camera and discovered a chasse-roue on the side of the road. Chasse-roue, which appeared in French architectural style since the 15th century, was originally an installation to protect the corners or doors of a building from the wheels of carriages. It is a structure made of stone or iron and placed in pairs on either side of the bottom of the building entrance. The series was created by the artist who found the traces of time left by being hit and bumped by carriages. The artist’s attitude of discovering objects that are often overlooked in daily life and conveying the unique aesthetics of the objects by capturing them from a new perspective is clearly revealed. Twelve pieces from this series are housed in the Carnavalet Museum in Paris.
