〈Soap 13〉, 2006.

Archival pigment print
39×32 cm

The series, which began in 2004, collects and photographs leftover soap of various colors and shapes. As soap melts with water, it lathers to make the user clean, but itself slowly disappears. Soap creates different shapes depending on the hand that touches it and the flow of water, and soap that has been dried shows unpredictable colors and patterns. By capturing a variety of soaps against a simple white background, the artist gives new value to soap, which would otherwise be insignificant. The individual history of each soap comes across as a story that is sometimes beautiful and sometimes sad.

* The perfume work of a scent artist, Han Seohyoung who reinterprets the image of is also exhibited.
