Around the Refrigerator is a representation in the drawing of specific landscapes and objects that captured the attention of the artist who has considered “Refrigerator Archive – The Column.” The artist conducted research with respect to the conventional flower points (double-flowered) designed for the fridge of each house in which materials of columns have appeared such as Family Recipes and the Refrigerator of an “Eldest Son’s Family” and Inside the Refrigerator of a Vietnamese Woman Who Used to Go Shopping for Groceries Every Day in Her Hometown, and this project represents (apparently) the double flowers sold at village markets (convenient stores) as “still life” paintings in the 18th–19th centuries. By looking into The Convenience Store: A Neighborhood Garden and Shared Refrigerator and Awaiting “Graduation” from the Convenience Store, the artist remembers the scenes where those living alone around the convenient stores go to the market or convenient stores and presents once again the past projects entitled, The Magnificent Seven at the Mart, and Two Friends in Their Pyjamas, Looking at the Stylish Couple and draws an analogy for such columns. In the project, “Was She Saving Those to Eat with Someone?”: Inside the Refrigerator that an Elderly Woman Left Behind intends to deliver the atmosphere of the space with a fridge and without a human. The artist aims to raise awareness as to the various lives by depicting what is secluded in the corners in the entire narrative.
