CHUANG Chih-wei is known for his interactive works that deal with a relationship between human and nature by using light and space. shows the artist’s methodology which is characterized as a combination of mechanical rationality and delicate sensibility. Started from a study on the cycle of time and the flow of life, refers to Ikebana, the Japanese
artistic tradition of flower arrangement. As flowers regain life through death in Ikebana, the artists explores how to artificially give a new life to an object using a mechanical device. The plants that move like puppets by a connection to a working motor in the distance seem as if a god who moves the modern society after the industrial revolution has breathed a life into it.
