PARK Cheonkang who has been active at the boundary between art and architecture, seeks an alternative to temporarily installed pavilions, which produce an extensive amount of construction waste, through his work 〈The Dialectic of Permanence and Transience〉. As materials for the work, he takes natural stones, wires, and wind chimes which symbolize persistence and momentality, and nature and artificiality. Also the materials that minimize production waste were selected to add an architectural structure to the space under the Grand Canopy (58 meters in length, 20 meters in height, 16 meters in width) located in the north of ACC. The heavy natural stones symbolizing eternity are fixed to the ground, and the wires are hung between the stones and the ceiling of the Grand Canopy. The vertical and repetitive structure of the natural stones and wires which seems stable and fixed, breaks in one breath even with a light breeze. the sound of wind chimes at the ends of wires consistently reminds us that nature is constantly interfering with our environment.
